If the VA paid you, or your school, more than you were eligible to receive for a VA benefit payment, this is frustratingly known as an overpayment.
An overpayment can happen for any of these reasons:
Not reporting a life change that affects your eligibility
Reporting a change, but they can't update your benefit amount before your next payment
An error, like a double payment

K9s for Warriors provides service dogs to military veterans struggling with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and/or military sexual trauma. These services are provided free of charge to veterans. As May marks Military Appreciation Month, the Sparkling Ice blue, pink, and purple variety packs will feature a “Proud Partners of K9s for Warriors” logo for a limited time in national retail stores and on Amazon. In-store displays will feature Rocky, a rescue dog turned service dog trained by K9s for Warriors and paired with his Battle Buddy in 2025.

Without an understanding of a patient’s military history, pharmacists may miss crucial context for adherence challenges or potential drug–disease interactions. Many healthcare providers lack training on veteran-specific health risks and military culture, leading to missed diagnoses and inadequate care. In turn, veterans often struggle to communicate service-related health concerns, particularly when providers fail to inquire about military history or recognize the connection between service experiences and current symptoms. This gap in care can result in delayed treatment, worsening conditions, and erosion of veterans’ trust in the healthcare system. Given their accessibility, pharmacists can be trained to ask a simple, respectful question during medication reviews: “Have you ever served in the military?”
This single question can open the door to a more comprehensive understanding of the veteran’s health and medication needs.

Proponents for the use of ibogaine to treat severe mental illness, including veterans, received promising news recently with President Trump’s executive order opening the door for treatments through psychedelics. Marcus and Amber are co-founders Veterans Exploring Treatment Solutions(VETS), a non-profit organization helping veterans interested in alternative solutions to mental health struggles. Marcus Capone said that while he’s optimistic about the future of ibogaine based on recent studies, more testing needs to be done to legitimize the drug as a healthy mental health aid.
